Along with the forward's six scores on debut, Stephen Ireland has scored eight in 3 games for Wythenshawe, while George Boyd scored five on his first match and Lescott, a centre-half by trade, notched a hat-trick in one match as a striker.

"We held our own for a good twenty mins but then we had a player sent off and it was tough.

"Our group literally haven't ceased talking about it - I was calling my mum and sibling on the way home.

"They were all really nice, shaking our hands after the match - it was like playing a bunch of regular guys.

"Now we can't wait for the second match."
